Slip-On exhaust system for BMW M3 (E90, E92, E93)

The Akrapovic aftermarket Slip-On exhaust system for the BMW M3 consists of a newly developed system with split-end mufflers. This exhaust system, made fully from titanium, reduces the overall weight when compared to the stock system by about 14 kg.

Performance:

The power increase is about 3 HP. The torque is nearly constant at 3,6 Nm over the stock. That is the real joy of driving: high speed engine benefits in daily practice due to the torque increase. It improves the agility in the lower rpm-range. Also, the engine is stronger in the higher rpm-range and the elasticity is improved. The improvement of acoustics played an important role in the development. The Akrapovic exhaust system amplifies and rectifies the beautiful sound of the 8-cylinder motor, without appearing invasive or having disadvantages in the daily use.

Slip-On system, homologated:

  • Titanium end mufflers

  • 4 Titanium or Carbon tail pipes

Hard facts:

  • plus 2,9 HP (at 7.610 rpm)

  • plus 3,6 Nm (at 5.930 rpm)

  • minus 14,14 kg

Evolution exhaust system for BMW M3 (E90, E92, E93)

The Akrapovic aftermarket Evolution exhaust system for BMW M3 consists of flow optimized link pipes with 2 x 100 cpsi sports catalysts and integrated resonators as well as a completely newly developed split-end muffler system. This exhaust system, made completely from titanium, reduces the overall weight when compared to the stock system by 23,97 kg.

Performance:

From approximately 2.500 rpm on, the power increase is about 22,2 HP. The torque is nearly constant at 34,7 Nm over the stock. That is the real joy of driving: high speed engine benefits in daily practice due to the torque increase. It improves the agility in the lower rpm-range noticeably. Also, the engine is stronger in the higher rpm-range and the elasticity is improved considerably. The improvement of acoustics played an important role in the development. The Akrapovic exhaust system amplifies and rectifies the beautiful sound of the 8-cylinder motor, without appearing invasive or having disadvantages in the daily use. End mufflers are also available separately as a slip-on system.

Evolution system:

  • link pipes (titanium), incl. 100 cpsi catalysts and resonators

  • 2 titanium end mufflers

  • 4 titanium tail pipes

Hard facts:

  • plus 22,2 HP (at 5.730 rpm)

  • plus 34,7 Nm (at 4.890 rpm)

  • minus 23,97 kg

BMW M6 (E63, E64)

Slip-on exhaust system for BMW M6 (E63, E64)

Engineers developed a Slip-On aftermarket exhaust system for the M6. The tubes are newly designed in order to optimize the exhaust flow by offering a bigger tube diameter. The end mufflers are now split. This technique reduces the weight by 13,25 kg in comparison to the stock system.

Performance:

The stock torque curve of the M6 V-10-cylinder has a dent in the area of 5.000 rpm. Akrapovic exhaust has the maximum torque increase of 3,5 Nm (at 7.210 rpm). The increase of power by 3,7 HP nearly homogeneously tunes in at around 7.000 rpm. This can be felt considerably and the 1.800 kg heavy vehicle appears more dynamic. The deconvolution of sound played a key role in the development of the exhaust system. We were able to change the sound characteristics of the high speed concept engine, based on the V-10-cylinder F1 motor, so that the advantages of the race ‘genes’ manifest considerably without appearing invasive in daily use.

Evolution exhaust system for BMW M6 (E63, E64)

Engineers developed a complete aftermarket exhaust system for the M6. The connection tubes of the Evolution System, i.e. the complete ex manifold system, are newly designed in order to optimize the exhaust flow by offering a bigger tube diameter, interference crossover tubes to improve the vibration characteristics of the exhaust, and the discard of the second set of catalysts. The end mufflers are now split. This technique reduces the weight by 26 kg in comparison to the 43 kg for the stock system.

Performance:

The stock torque curve of the M6 V-10-cylinder has a dent in the area of 5.000 rpm. Akrapovic exhaust has the cure as the maximum torque increase of 16,7 Nm (at 5.970 rpm) is exactly within that area. The increase of power by 14,4 HP nearly homogeneously tunes in at around 4.000 rpm.

Evolution complete system:

  • titanium crossover tubes

  • titanium end mufflers

  • itanium tail pipes

Hard facts:

  • plus 14,4 HP (at 6.360 rpm)

  • plus 16,7 HP (at 5.970 rpm)

  • minus 26,45 kg

Carbon fiber tail pipe set for BMW X6 (E71)

Akrapovic is pleased to offer our X6 carbon exhaust tail pipes.

These handcrafted tail pipes are produced in our onsite European carbon fiber production facility.

They are made from aerospace-grade prepreg carbon fiber cloth wrapped around a special titanium alloy core.

The result is a stunning 110 mm (over 4.2 in.) component that showcases our many years of racingexperience, attention to detail, and commitment to the highest quality.

A simple“bolt-on” part, the tail pipes can be installed without modifying the stock exhaust.

X6 M (E71) & X5 M (E70)

A twin turbo, 4.4 liter, 555 horsepower SUV? Only from the M division of BMW could a beast such as this be set loose on the world. Akrapovič is proud to have designed an exhaust system that unleashes the typical V8 roar from the engine of this technically advanced and premium Sports Activity Coupé.

Performance

We have constructed a complete “catalyst back” exhaust system manufactured entirely from our proprietary titanium alloy, which introduces enhancements to the exhaust design not found in the stock system. One of the most important changes is the incorporation of an X-pipe in the system. The inclusion of an X-pipe increases low to mid-range power while at the same time producing a deeper exhaust note that the original system lacks. Additionally, a pair of resonators are added to eliminate any chance of in-cabin droning. The mounting flanges are made of cast titanium from our in-house foundry and ensure a perfect, leak-free fit.

Moving to the muffler section of our system, we have retained the “dualmode” exhaust flap control from the original system. This allows the vehicle to have a more civilized, but deeper than stock sound at low speed. However, at higher RPM (or when selecting the “S” mode on the gearshift) the muffler is bypassed, creating a deep and sporty sound much more in keeping with the personality of the car.

Two exhaust tail pipe options are available; both are 100 mm in diameter. The first is made completely from titanium while the other is crafted from a carbon fiber/titanium composite. The carbon fiber version was developed on the MotoGP Safety Car, which is driven at sustained high speed, to guarantee uncompromised durability.

Performance has not been left out of the design. The system dramatically reduces backpressure and is an excellent starting point for further engine tuning or turbo modifications. Even when installed on an otherwise stock vehicle a gain of 11 horsepower and 15 Nm/11 lbs-ft of torque are achieved. Furthermore, a weight reduction of 23 kg/51 lbs. is realized. The OEM catalysts are retained, so no reflashing of the ECU is required and the check engine light will not be triggered.

Evolution system, homologated:

Titanium link pipe set with resonators
Titanium X-pipe
Titanium muffler with integrated exhaust valves

Hard facts:

Plus 11 HP (at 6,200 rpm)
Plus 15 Nm/11 lbs-ft of torque (at 2,270 rpm)
23 kg/51 lbs. lighter than stock
