Slip-On exhaust system for Nissan GT-R

Nissan´s new super car’s nickname is Godzilla and of course we kept that in mind when developing the new titanium Slip-On exhaust system for it. Usage of light, strong and durable materials for the Akrapovic aftermarket Slip-On exhaust system, allows Godzilla to have a richer sound, and the performance is more sporty because of the additional power.

We even put our own signature on GT-R´s design – just look for aggressive titanium or carbon fiber tail pipes underneath the recognizable Nissan taillights.

Performance:

With almost 1.8 tons, Nissan´s GT-R is one of the heaviest sports cars. So an appropriate diet is very important to increasing its performance. Just the Akrapovic Slip-On exhaust system, which is an entry level procedure in GT-R´s tuning, makes an 8,42 kilogram difference, which is almost half that of the stock system. Our engineers improved the weight to power ratio by adding more power. With an Akrapovic Slip-On exhaust system, the GT-R has 8,1 HP more (at 6.260 rpm) and 11,6 Nm more (at 2.140 rpm), power was particularly improved at highest revs – from 5.000 rpm on, where the stock system cannot compete with the capabilities of the Slip-On. The combination of lowering the weight and increasing the power makes the 4-wheel drive GT-R more agile and faster. The system is made off titanium and offers that unique Akrapovic sound, which is more aggressive but still civil enough for daily use.

Slip-On system, homologated:

  • titanium rear link pipe

  • titanium end mufflers

  • 4 titanium or carbon fiber tail pipes

Hard facts:

  • plus 8,1 HP (at 6.260 rpm)

  • plus 11,6 Nm (at 2.140 rpm)

  • minus 8,42 kg

Evolution exhaust system for Nissan GT-R

Despite the substantial weight of the car, we must remember that we are talking about a sports car. The Nissan GT-R was one of the fastest street legal cars on famous track Nordschleife. We are confident that the GT-R will be even faster at 'Green Hell' with its newly developed Akrapovic aftermarket Evolution exhaust system, because we made it considerably more powerful as well as lighter. Our engineers achieved that by using our exclusive high quality titanium.

This light and strong material runs from the front of the Evolution system all the way through the four big titanium or carbon fiber tail pipes, which are like a mirror image of GT-R´s taillights, a trademark of this awesome Nissan.

Performance:

Hiding behind the aggressive titanium or carbon fiber end pipes, is a story of hard work carried out by Akrapovic engineers, who were able to find an additional 17 HP (at 6.260 rpm) and 56,1 Nm (at 2.600 rpm). With the Evolution exhaust system, the GT-R improved the elasticity and responsiveness of its powerful engine in the entire rpm range, which is the best way to improve on-road performance. The Evolution is especially effective between 2.000 and 3.500 rpm, which makes daily driving even more fun. Additionally, Evolution offers great advantages with regard to weight. The stock exhaust system is 17,3 kilograms heavier, while Akrapovic’s fully titanium made system weighs only 14,3 kilograms. Thus, its power to weight ratio is unbeatable. We are very proud of our achievements in improving Nissan GT-R’s performance data. We would also like to emphasize its muscular design and the sporty sound of the four beautifully made tail pipes.

Evolution complete system:

  • titanium front link pipes with resonators

  • titanium rear link pipe

  • titanium end mufflers

  • 4 titanium or carbon fiber tail pipes

Hard facts:

  • plus 17 HP (at 6.260 rpm)

  • plus 56,1 Nm (at 2.600 rpm)

  • minus 17,3 kg

  370Z 2009 - 2010

Slip-On exhaust system

For the Nissan 370Z we offer two configurations of exhaust. Both are constructed of high grade stainless steel. The first is our Slip-On (axle back) system.  A finely crafted replacement muffler system, it installs easily using the original mounting points. The Evolution system uses the same muffler as the Slip-On system. However, it also includes high-flow link pipes with integrated resonators and crossover tube that replace the entire exhaust system from the manifolds back. With both systems you can choose between 125 mm tail pipes made from either titanium (sandblasted and coated) or aerospace-grade carbon fiber.

Performance

We at Akrapovič strive to make cars sound the way they were intended to. The 370Z is no exception. The Slip-On systemsgenerate a deeper-than-stock tone with the sporty sound you would expect from the 3.7-liter high-revving engine.

While the Evolution system is louder than the Slip-On, both are still perfectly acceptable for daily use and have no droning that would otherwise ruin the driving experience.

There are power gains not just at or near redline, but across the entire rpm range. The Slip-One system produces a boost in performance.A gain of5 horsepower and 5 Nm of torque are generated, as well as a weight reduction of 1 kg when compared to stock

Slip-On system, homologated:

Stainless steel muffler
Hard facts:

Plus 5 HP (at 7.460 rpm)
Plus 5 Nm (at 3.000 rpm)
1 kg lighter than stock

Optional:

2 titanium (sandblasted and coated) tail pipes
2 carbon fiber tail pipes
Hard facts:Stainless steel, 13 HP plus, 10 Nm plus, 4 kg lighter

The Slip-On systems generate a deeper-than-stock tone with the sporty sound you would expect from the 3.7-liter high-revving engine. The Evolution system is much more racer-inspired with an aggressive character. It encourages the driver to rev the engine higher. While the Evolution system is louder than the Slip-On, both are still perfectly acceptable for daily use and have no droning that would otherwise ruin the driving experience.

There are power gains not just at or near redline, but across the entire rpm range. The Evolution system produces a substantial boost in performance. A gain of 13 horsepower and 10 Nm of torque are generated, as well as a weight reduction of 4 kg when compared to stock. The Evolution exhaust brings noticeable difference in power from around 3.000 rpm to the redline—that is, in precisely the range where the sound is also most enjoyable.

Hard facts:

Plus 13 HP (at 7.460 rpm)
Plus 10 Nm (at 3.370 rpm)
